The Drumright Area Angel Tree is up and ready for Angels to be adopted!

Every year for the memorable past, the community of Drumright has pulled together to help make the dreams and wishes of our children a reality.

The Wade Guyer Memorial Foundation has hosted a Toy Run for the Angel Tree to help with toy donations since Wade's passing in 2015. Prior to that, the toy run was part of Drumright's annual Christmas parade, but due to the often inclement weather, there was not always an ideal turnout.

For the past five years, Veronica Vogele, along with countless other volunteers, have come together to make this project happen.

“It really is a community effort.” Says Vogele. “There are close to twenty volunteers that help make the Angel Tree happen every year. Some that help with the sorting and shopping, and some that help with loading gifts on the scheduled pick up date.”

This year there are over 50 children on the Tree.

2020 has been a difficult year for most all of us, but for many children, the gifts received through the Angel Tree, are the only gifts they find waiting under their tree on Christmas morning.

“We typically have around 65-75 children on the tree, and there hasn't ever been a year that I know of that all the tags have been adopted.”

Each Angel has two tags: a red tag for clothing and a green tag for toys or gifts. Individuals are welcome to adopt either tag, or both. When you do take a tag off the Tree, please sign the tag out in the binder on the side table.

If you would like to donate, but would rather not get out during these trying times, you can donate financially to the Drumright Area Angel Tree account at RCB Bank, and we will be glad to do the shopping for you this year.

“We also couldn't do it without the generous help and support of RCB Bank. Every year, they supply the actual tree and they offer us a secure location for angels to be adopted and for gifts to be dropped off.” Says Vogele

The Angel Tree is located in the lobby of Drumright’s RCB Bank. Currently, the lobby is open by appointment only, however, you do not need an appointment to access the Tree. Simply call Stephanie at RCB on her direct line at 918-699-7012, and she will be glad to let you in!
