Wayne Paul Cooper, Jr., age 74, resident of Coweta went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 25, 2020 at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Wayne was born on July 29, 1946 in Cushing, Oklahoma and was the son of Wayne Paul Cooper, Sr. and Lela P. (Powell) Moore.

Wayne was a 1965 graduate of Drumright High School. He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Wayne received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. He worked at Sunoco Oil as an operator for many years until he retired in 2002. Wayne was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching birds, watching westerns, and reading his Bible. Wayne was a very smart man and knew a lot about history and military history. He loved his family and enjoyed being with his grandkids.

Wayne is survived by two daughters, Tonya D. Willett of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jody K. Cooper of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one brother, Tom R. Cooper and wife Kathy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Linda J. Cooper-Mellage and husband Marvin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Dustin Willett and fiancé Hope, Olivia Lyon, and Zachary Cooper; one great grandson, Camden Willett; nieces and nephews, Tom Cooper, Jr. and wife Amy, Michael Cooper, Jennifer Mellage-Hogan, and Matthew Mellage; and numerous great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Paul Cooper, Sr.; his mother, Lela P. Moore; his son, Wayne Paul Cooper, III; and his brother, Benny Moore.

Viewing will be from 12:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home. Services celebrating Wayne’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Bob Green officiating. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Drumright, Oklahoma. Military honors will be rendered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 7977 of Skiatook, Oklahoma.
