Eddie was born in the coal mining town of Cannelton, West Virginia on August 21, 1937 to Eugene and Gemilia (Fauber) Clemons. He passed from this life in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on April 11, 2023 at the age of 85 years, 7 months, & 21 days. Eddie and his older sister, Phyllis, were close from the start. He had two other siblings who passed as infants. After a life of coal mining, Eugene, Gemilia, and Phyllis left West Virginia for California and Eddie followed. When he was 20 years old he met Francis “Fran” Utley and the two were an instant match. Eddie was known to save on date time by figuring out Fran’s math homework while he drove through town with her.

They wed on June 27, 1959 & raised 2 children, Carol, & Bill.

Eddie and Fran’s place was an active one and was known as a meeting place for their neighbors.

Eddie was into recycling before it was cool & encouraged his neighbors to donate their aluminum cans each year so he could cash them in for one heck of a neighborhood party. Both Eddie and Fran shared a love of animals and through the years raised horses, cows, goats, pigs, hens, and you name it. Their love of animals landed them an appearance as extras in the film, Beastmaster.

They also enjoyed camping and took their kids on annual trips to area national parks.

Eddie and Fran moved to Drumright, Oklahoma in 1982 so their animals had more room to roam. He took a job at the city water department where he stayed until he retired. It was at this job that he forged a lifelong friendship with Rick Dillard.

When Fran passed in 1988, Eddie found himself at a loss. He filled his time with work, his animals, and woodworking.

In 1996 he married Angela Mae (Touchatt) Henshaw. They enjoyed spending time traveling, doing crafts, antiquing, and going to garage sales. Eddie will forever be known as a man who enjoyed a deal. He had a knack for being in the right place at the right time to get the best deal. His many collections included belt buckles, coins, VHS tapes, hand saws, and straight razors. One time he brought home a French racing bicycle he bought at the docks in California because it was a good deal. In addition to his parents, first wife and infant siblings, he was preceded in death by his Sister: Phyllis Fee: & 2 stepdaughters: Jowanna Carter & Becky Anderson.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Angela Mae Clemons of Sapulpa; Daughter: Carol Birdsall & husband Mark of California; Son: William Bill Clemons & wife Becky of Illinois; Stepchildren: Marvin Shelton of Drumright – Janice & Tony Wadley of Sapulpa; Son-in-Law: Gary Anderson of Tryon; Grandchildren: Travis – Danny – Morgan – Fred – Margaret – Cheri - Bradley – Shannon – Dylan – Lonny – Tara & Christopher; 12 Great grandchildren; plus numerous other relatives and friends.
