Hobert Henry Lowe, longtime Drumright resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in Tulsa with family by his side at the age of 86.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the 9th & Linwood Church of Christ in Cushing. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Hobert was born on July 4, 1936, to Guy Grady and Lera Elizabeth (Bateman) Lowe in Schlegel, OK. He grew up and attended school in Olive, graduat- ing in 1955.

After finishing high school, Hob ert attended Oklahoma State University. He worked toward a degree in Agricultural Science, before being drafted into the United States Army as a medic.

Hobert was introduced to the love of his life, Marian Joan Ashley by his sister Janie Brooks at her wedding. They dated about a year and married on August 23, 1963, at the Church of Christ in Okmulgee, OK. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this coming August. Hobert and Joan moved back to Drumright after they were married and soon started their own family. They were blessed with two boys Brent and Terry.

Hobert was a hard-working man.

He worked as a welder in Tulsa and farmed after getting o from his day job. He worked from sunup to sundown and was always looking for his next project. He always raised cattle on his farm and most recently had both cattle and sheep. From 1974 to the mid 1980’s he owned and worked at Hobert Lowe Feed Store in Drumright, Oklahoma. This was a family business and his wife and boys spent many hours working together. He was a hard worker in everything he did but he worked hardest in the kingdom of God, he would almost always be the first to church ser vices and spend countless hours with his bible and song book in preparation for personal bible studies and corporate studies including many years of working in the prison teaching there before going to the regular services on Sunday mornings. Hobert was a lifelong active member of the Church of Christ.

He was a kind and loving man always wearing a smile and is missed greatly.

Hobert is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Baird; one brother-in-law, Reece Brooks; one son, Terry Lowe; two greatgrandchildren, Vivian Hope Duncan and David Henry Duncan.

Hobert is survived by his loving wife, Marian Joan Lowe; one son, Brent Lowe and wife, Diana; four grandchildren, Tayler Lowe, Matthew Lowe and wife, Liz, Melissa Duncan and husband, Richard, and Hannah Lowe; two greatgrandchildren, Mason Deanda, Quinn Duncan, and one on the way, Grady; three siblings, Russell Lowe, Martha LaMascus and husband, Richard, Janie Brooks, and a brother-in-law, Dale Baird. Hobert is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
