Ronald Ray Burton

April 19, 1948 – September 20, 2023 Ronald Ray Burton, 75, formerly of Sand Springs, OK, passed away in Lawton, OK on the morning of September 20, 2023, with family by his side. Ron was born in Stillwater, OK in the early morning of April 19, 1948, the eldest child to Orval and Reba (McKnight) Burton. He graduated from Perkins High School in 1966, studied at Oklahoma State, followed by graduation from Spartan School of Aeronautics’ Aircraft Maintenance program several years later.

In 1996, Ron married Nedra Kay (West) Burton, with whom he shared many adventures. Together, they were active in the Scottish Club of Tulsa, Celtic Fringe, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and various other social clubs around the Tulsa area, many of which, he ascended into leadership roles. He spent most of his life in Oklahoma, but also spent time in Missouri, Texas, and Atlanta Georgia. He retired as an aircraft mechanic at Delta Air Lines and following his retirement, returned to Oklahoma, ultimately retiring from the oil and gas industry. Ron is survived by his wife, Nedra; sons, Andrew and wife Heather Burton, Aaron Burton; granddaughter, Abigail Burton; brother, Layne and wife Leona Burton; and many loving nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father as named above.

Memorial services will be held at Eden Chapel United Methodist Church, Perkins, OK on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM, interment at Glenwood Cemetery.
